Caregiver Immigration

Live-in caregivers, who are qualified to provide care for children, the elderly or people with disabilities in private homes with work experience can apply for permanent residence under caregiver class. Six months of your work experience must be continuous employment with one employer.

There are different programs under this category:

Caring For Children Program

You can apply through the caring for children class if you:

  • Have been working as a home childcare provider in Canada for at least 2 years
  • meet minimum language and education requirements
  • Caring for people with high medical needs program

    You can apply through the Caring for People with High Medical Needs class if you have been working in Canada for at least 2 years as a:

  • Registered nurse
  • Licensed practical nurse
  • Nurse aide or orderly
  • Home support worker
